Are you living in the past, present or future?

If you often remember a traumatic event, or how someone hurt you, or a difficult situation, you are living in the past. Every time you refer to those events you re-live the emotions you felt then. In this way, you bring your past to the present. When we experience these emotions for a long time we become very familiar with those emotions and they become our comfort zone.

If you create scenarios that have not happened yet, you are living in the future. For example, you may be worried about how to earn enough for retirement, or imagining everything that could go wrong, or how would people react or think about you. Most of the time we imagine the worst scenarios and spend a lot of energy worrying about things that may never happen.

What you focus on, you will feel! Focusing on the past or the future take your present away. And not only that, but it is the cause of anxiety, overwhelm, and many other disempowering emotions.

Decide to live and enjoy the present by appreciating more of what you are living right now!
